Why Finding a Daycare Isn’t Easy

Finding and enrolling a child in the right daycare is a challenging and time-consuming process. Parents face a lack of transparency in daycare services, difficulty in identifying trusted options, and limited communication with providers — leaving them in need of a more efficient way to discover and enrol in high-quality daycares.

What the Search Looks Like Now

Parents rely on Google searches and word-of-mouth recommendations to find daycares. While Google provides listings, the information is often outdated, inconsistent, or lacks credibility. Directly contacting daycare centres and other parents is time-consuming and inefficient.

Inside Parent Minds

We conducted primary research by interviewing 28 parents to understand their priorities while searching for a daycare. Below are key interview insights, the challenges parents face, and the priorities that shape their decisions.

My biggest concern is safety, I need to know my child will be secure and well looked after.
We didn’t go for daycare earlier because of financial constraints; it just felt too expensive.
Honestly, finding a good daycare was such a long and tiring process. It took weeks of searching and calling.
If the child-to-staff ratio is more than 4:1, I’m not comfortable. It says a lot about how much attention my child will actually get.
Want a daycare close to home, convenient for daily drop-offs.
Daycares help kids become more independent and social, they learn how to adjust and interact.
